The Lean Flight Initiative (LFI) is an organization dedicated to continuous improvement by means of supporting the aviation industry applying Lean methods and practice.
The LFI began in Ireland as a small, grass roots organization, but is now an organized, on-going, forward-looking organization. This year the organization has opened up to individual membership and a membership drive is on-going. Membership costs 110 euro, or about $149 per year. You can join by paying through PayPal on-line. It's easy!
The LFI website details a lot of the things they do. In fact, Delta Tech Ops is a major sponsor for the upcoming LFI4 Conference in downtown Atlanta, May 10-11. We are also facilitating a Lean best practice site visit to Delta TechOps as part of the conference offering. We anticipate Tony Charaf at this conference as well as Jim Womack, Ken Kreafle and many other thought leaders in Lean.
As a Board Member of the LFI, and a practicing Delta CI person, I strongly urge you to consider membership and attendance at the Atlanta conference in May.
